Design, fabrication and installation of a feature steel staircase and balustrade system for a residential atrium, finished in powder-coated black with a hardwood handrail.

The atrium opening was out of square by a noticeable margin, which would have shown badly on a staircase with long straight runs.
What we did about it
We surveyed the opening properly before fabricating anything and set the staircase out to a true line, absorbing the discrepancy in the trimmer detail at the head. The finished stair reads dead straight even though the opening is not.
Outcome
A feature staircase that sits true in an opening that is not, with no visible packing or scribing.
